A warm invitation to our exhibition opening FRAUENPOWER on March 8, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Petra Kern Gallery
We are looking forward to three Power Ladies, three artists: Seona Sommer, Stefanie Welk and Hilla Wolf-Wagner.
With her oil portraits, Seona Sommer explores the essence of those she paints, captures emotions from different cultures and personalities and creates incredibly close images. Humanity & diversity form the foundation of her art. Her travels around the world, especially to India and Tanzania, have had a significant impact on her artistic development and social commitment.
Stefanie Welk works with metal and wire. She breathes life into her mostly figurative steel sculptures by bending, knotting and welding. Her three-dimensional wire drawings address contemporary issues of modern society such as networking, departure, the pursuit of personal growth and change.
Hilla Wolf-Wagner's sculptures are dynamic, committed and idiosyncratic and emphasize the importance and self-image of women. They captivate our gaze with their temperament and their very own expression, which is unbiased and self-confident.
The exhibition runs until April 5, 2025 and can be viewed during our opening hours Wednesday-Friday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. or on individual appointment.
We look forward to numerous visitors and you coming. Kind regards Petra Kern and Sirin Gerlach
Dear art friends, dear visitors to art KARLSRUHE,
We are looking forward to our 13th participation in art KARLSRUHE 2025, which continues to reinvent itself and appears fresh with a new design and logo. What remains is our booth location in Hall 4, DM Arena. Visit us at stand L17 - in the middle at the end of the hall opposite the catering.
The focus of our gallery work, which has been maintained by the second generation in Heidelberg for 58 years, is on the representational figurative art of international artists. For me, it's not just about supporting and developing my artists, but also about raising awareness of the need for art in society.
With the quote “Art has the task of keeping alive what is so important and necessary for us as humans.” by Michelangelo Buonarroti, our 6 artists recommend themselves this year with time-critical works, they take a stand with their art and give us a nudge to look carefully, to stay critical, act responsibly and live good values.
New and new at art KARLSRUHE “BUJA”, who challenges the viewer to linger with its mixture of painting and street art. At first glance, happy and full of hope, it is only at second glance that we recognize things, references, clues to our current life, the artist’s view of reality.
We look forward to inspiring you again this year, the personal exchange about art and your visit at our booth, Hall 4, DM-Arena, L17.
Stay confident. Warm regards, yours Petra Kern & team
A challenging year is coming to an end!
Dear customers, friends and art lovers, artists and all supporters of "Kunst Kompetenz Petra Kern",
somehow this year nothing was the same as usual. Sometimes we were very surprised and other times the results of the artbusiness went against our expectations; But that never stopped us from giving everything for art. And we will continue to do so with all our passion in 2025. We say thank you, dear customers, for the many beautiful, inspiring moments and the trust you have shown.
Thank you to my artists for your tireless creativity, to my team for your support and flexibility and to all my supporters for good cooperation. Let's approach the next year with vigor and enthusiasm.
Thanks also to my network BNI for friendship, solutions, security, positivity and success. We take a short break, recharge our batteries, celebrate Christmas and the New Year with our loved ones and then start the New Year energeticly.
We are happy to be there for you during our opening hours on December 27th and 28th, 2024. (Friday 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
The gallery will be closed from December 29, 2024 to January 7, 2025.
From January 8th, 2025 we will be fulfilling all art wishes again and look forward to seeing you again at Galerie Petra Kern or at art KARLSRUHE in February 2025.
We wish you health, love and peaceful togetherness from the bottom of our hearts,
Yours sincerely, Petra Kern, Claudia Fadani and Sirin Gerlach
PEOPLE - 2&2 ARTIST COUPLES
We are looking forward to the exhibition with two married couples of artists entitled "PEOPLE 2+2" in our gallery in Heidelberg. I love the fact that art always makes us think and engage with current issues, which is so important especially in this time of impending change.
What is our current exhibition about, which can be seen until November 30, 2024? About people, humanity, the role of women and men, about positive impulses in this time but also a return to values and simply being “happy”. Esther Miranda and Jesús Miguel Rodriguez de la Torre show encounters, accidental or remembered from childhood. Svetlana Magenheim-Gegg takes on the role of women, yesterday, today and tomorrow, how I understand myself as a woman and, of course, the role of men.
Markus Magenheim creates productions with people he knows personally, and his depictions of people often include references to art history and religious themes. And so a snapshot of a “play” becomes a metaphor for values, what is allowed and what is not. The importance of family is mostly present in his works. The fact that the artist paints only with one color, named "Caput Mortuum", enhances the effect. We look forward to an effective exhibition with numerous visitors and a lively exchange.
With kind regards Petra Kern & Team
