Joanna Jesse was born 1975 in Posen (Poland). After graduating at the School of Art in Posen she trained to be a graphic designer. Since 2006 she has been working independently as an artist. Between 2006 and 2009 she attended lectures by Professor Herbert Brandl at the Art Academy Düsseldorf. After that she started studying free painting at the Academy. 4 years later Prof. Herbert Brandl appoints Joanna Jesse as his master student. In 2015 she receives her diploma at the Art Academy Düsseldorf.

Joanna Jesse is taking part in several exhibitions and trade fairs in Germany, Austria and Spain. She currently works and lives in Solingen, Germany.

Joanna Jesse paints scenes from an earlier day-to-day life so that these become a document for this particular moment. Her main motive in is childhood. In her paintings she expresses the carefreeness and lightheartedness of being a child in the intensity of colours as well as in plays of light and shadow.
