Cordial invitation to the exhibition "Memories" street art by Jana & JS and sculptures by Claudia Pense The vernissage will take place on April 20th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Petra Kern in conversation with Jana&JS and Claudia Pense We are looking forward to your visit.
The exhibition runs until May 20, 2023 in the Petra Kern Gallery, Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage 25, in the old town of Heidelberg. The opening hours are as usual Wednesday to Friday 2-7 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Street art by Jana & JS, stencil technique on canvas, assemblages or found objects and sculptures by Claudia Pense meet in this exhibition. We remember live moments with the artist couple Jana & JS in Mannheim and Heidelberg last year. Austrian and French street artists Jana & JS have been painting together since 2006. The couple creates polychrome stencil murals of varying sizes. Based on her personal photographic work, the stencils appear to react and interact with their surroundings.
Claudia Pense, a freelance artist from Kelkheim, prefers to experiment with stone and brings it into dialogue with other materials such as metal and acrylic. She is dedicated to dealing with nature, its change and fragility and shows this in numerous art projects; however, in her artistic dialogues we often also find human interaction, our own relationship dialogue. The "Memories" exhibition shows different facets of the artist, from figurative bronze sculptures to abstract sculptures made of stone, metal and acrylic.
We look forward to your visit Cordially Petra Kern & TEAM
Dear friends of Fine Art, dear visitors to the art KARLSRUHE,
this year, the Petra Kern Gallery is appearing at art KARLSRUHE for the 11th time with nine artist of international standing. The focus of our gallery work is on representational figurative art.
From hyper-realistic, figurative to expressive abstract, the whole spectrum is shown in art works presented by artists from the USA – Jérôme Lagarrigue, Cuba – Dyron Gonzalez, England – Jonathan Huxley, France – Bruno Helgen, Armenia – Karen Shahverdyan and Germany – Stefanie Welk, Jürgen Heinz and Conrad Sevens.
An absolute highlight for this year is the sculpture square with 100 m² in Hall 2, H2/A17, where we present the two metal sculptors Stefanie Welk and Jürgen Heinz.
Clear forms, surfaces and lines in Jürgen Heinz’s “Moving Sculptures”. Their dynamism and soul are revealed in the movement which is stimulated from the outside. They meet the dynamism in curved lines who limit and open up, the premeable figurative steel sculptures that connect with time and space, by Stefanie Welk. We look forward to this exciting dialogue.
On the opposite side of the sculpture square H2/A17, you’ll find paintings and wood sculptures of seven other artists at the gallery booth H2/A13 on another 75m².
This year our main focus here goes to the artist Dayron Gonzalez (*1982 Havana), to whom we are dedicating a one-artist show.
We are delighted to present a selection of large format works by this exceptional talent from the last few years in a ONE ARTIST SHOW. Traditional roots and powerful, impasto expressive abstraction which reflect the spirit of this time and retell the story. Dayron Gonzalez demystifies the true story behind each image with a style that ranges from the subtle to the violent. In each of his works one senses the attempt to create a new consciousness that can make the viewer think, with the intention of adopting a different point of view.
We look forward to your visit

This exhibition, dedicated exclusively to the work of the Salzburg painter, marks the start of our new series of special exhibitions, which will take place four times a year from 2023. This format makes it possible to focus entirely on individual artists presented by the gallery.
More than thirty years have passed since Bernhard Vogel broke with the commercial family tradition and dared to take the step into life as an artist as an autodidact. The rapid and overwhelming success (starting in Austria and spreading internationally from there) that Vogel has enjoyed since the 1980s has continued unabated ever since. The artist is particularly well-known today for the technique of watercolor painting he favors since he made an eye-opening acquaintance with with this technique at a seminar by Irma Toledo. But Vogel also discovered various printing techniques and mixed media works during his career. Right from the start, Vogel used motifs from cities and landscapes from Europe to America in his unmistakable style. Portraits and floral compositions were later added. The seemingly dreamy interpretations – often abstract at first glance, but always rooted in realism – repeatedly open new perspectives for the viewer, including those that are supposedly well-known, such as the New York skyline or the Tuscan hills.
The exhibition "BERNHARD VOGEL – Ein Künstlerleben" is therefore intended to allow not only the presentation of current works but also a retrospective cross-section, and thus make the development of the artist's different creative phases comprehensible through comparison.
We are looking forward to your visit.
Cordially yours

Dear clients and friends of Kunst-Kompetenz-Petra Kern,
a year full of challenges, strokes of fate, economic and global political difficulties is coming to an end. It was exhausting but also characterized by a lot of gratitude for the beautiful encounters, support, and friendship. Now is the time for contemplative days, love, rest and relaxation and a good turn of the year. Let's use the time so that we can start a new year 2023 with many changes and hopefully always good togetherness.
This year we chose an oil painting by Joanna Jesse: "In the tent" as a Christmas picture, as a symbol for friendship - love - hope, because: "Where there is love, the impossible becomes possible." (Buddha)
For the new year there will be a lot of activities. The presentation of dates and what this will be, will follow in the New Year!
The GALERIE in the Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage will remain closed until January 10th. We're taking a well-deserved winter break. From January 11, 2023 we will be there for you again during the usual opening hours.
For all those who want to use their free days between years to visit the gallery, do it! Call us on 0175/2982284 and arrange a personal appointment. We are really looking forward to your call.
Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy start with lots of love into a successful 2023!
Sincerely yours Petra Kern, Claudia Fadani and Cara Hoppe
