Karen Shahverdyan was born in Armenia in 1969. Since 1984 until 1988 he has received his education at the Terlemesyan- Art school in Erewan/Armenia. 1889 until 1995 he has studied at the State Academy of Art Tbilissi and received his certificate as an graphic artist. He has passed through practical courses in 1998 and 1999 at the State Academy Tbilissi, faculty for restoration of oil paintings and at the State Art Museum Georgian, division for restoration. Since 1999 Karen Shahverdyan lives as a independent artist in Darmstadt, Germany.

Participation in exhibitions since 1987 in Erewan/Armenia, Tbilissi/Georgien, Moscow/Russia, Bensheim/Germany, Munster/Frankreich, Esslingen-Nürtingen/Germany.
Karen Shahverdyan has received his education like the Old Master; he is a master of their styles and techniques thus approaching modern paths, where the being a good hand at his trade is not the most important thing but a means to express new contents in his works.
Karen Shahverdyan leaves the path of conventional painting. He makes an experiment with real pictorial elements like landscapes, architecture, sky or people, which he combines in a not conventional manner and so produces very emphatic paintings.
