Art in Nature – Stefanie Welk
Stefanie Welk is one of Germany's leading sculptors in the field of public art. With her distinctive artistic language in steel and wire, she has developed a unique sculptural signature. Thousands of finely welded steel rods are transformed into delicate, light-filled sculptures of remarkable elegance that appear almost weightless despite their impressive scale.
Her work combines outstanding craftsmanship with exceptional artistic vision and has been recognized with numerous first prizes, prestigious commissions, scholarships, and awards both nationally and internationally.
For Stefanie Welk, sculpture is never an isolated object. Instead, it becomes a living presence in dialogue with its surroundings. It is in nature that her works fully reveal their expressive power. Light, wind, water, shadow, and the changing seasons become integral parts of the artwork, allowing it to transform continuously.
The transparency of the steel structures dissolves the boundaries between inside and outside, space and landscape, people and nature, creating a shared experience. The result is a poetic place of encounter, movement, and contemplation, where art expands our perception and deepens our connection with the natural world. This is the unique fascination of Stefanie Welk's sculptures: they make the surrounding space itself an essential part of the artwork.
You can experience this extraordinary interaction of art and nature on 10 July at LebensraumGarten in Mauer during the Outdoor Kitchen Party Deluxe but also afterwards the next couple of weeks.
Further information is available here: Outdoor Kitchen Party Deluxe - Mein Lebensraum.
We are delighted to be part of this special event.
Warm regards,
Petra Kern
